1389 Breeding & Store Sheep sold at Newton Stewart’s first sale of the season.

Breeding sheep in keeping with the national trend were harder to cash. Store lambs although down on the year were easy to sell with a packed ringside of buyers. 39 Mule ewe lambs to £80 from K Lochhead, St Ninnians. Mule gimmers sold to and averaged £116 from J McKenna, Gass, Kirkcowan. 1185 Store Lambs averaged £51.76 peaking at £58.50 for two separate pens of Suffolks from T Landers, Bardrochwood and Texels sold to £57.20 from J & W Wallace, Kilqhouckadale.
