DG First men working at the Cree Bridge have report that they have managed to get the tree away from the bridge abutments taking the pressure off the structure of the historic bridge.

But as the tree roots are stuck on the river bed they will now wait until the river levels rise again and the tree can be floated downstream and removed safely.
