THE Blockheads and Bad Manners have been announced to top Wickerman Festival’s punk and ska bill.
Also revealed are Peter and The Test Tube Babies, Goldblade, The Skints, Pronghorn, The Toasters, Sharks, The Vibrators, Janice Graham Band, Orange, Hearts on Fire, The Foundations, The Dugz all confirmed
Festival-goers should get set to revel in The Blockheads’ high octane performance, as they close the tent on Friday 20th July.
Having first played Wickerman’s main stage six years ago, the jazz-rock collective, who celebrate their 35th anniversary this September, will be delivering a slate of crowd-pleasing classic material. They are joined on the bill by fellow Wickerman veterans Manchester-based Goldblade, the critically acclaimed Sharks and London based reggae and dub upstarts The Skints.
The Blockheads’ Mick Gallagher said: “We played Wickerman six years ago and what makes it stand out from other festivals is its genuinely friendly atmosphere. It’s a festival for everyone who loves music and it gives us a chance to play a festival in Scotland which can only be a good thing.”
Bad Manners frontman Buster Bloodvessel added: “I remember Wickerman very fondly, the smiles and the dancing. For me it’s a top European Festival and Bad Manners and Wickerman seem to go hand in hand. See you all there.”
New York pop stars Scissor Sisters and top Scottish band Texas were recently announced as the headline acts for the main Summerisle stage, joined by very special guests The View, a DJ set from Mike Skinner, Levellers, Newton Faulkner and Kassidy, naming just a few.
