Biosphere group wants local input

THE partnership board of Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere is keen to hear from local people about what they think makes Galloway a special place.

They are inviting members of the public to imagine they are writing a postcard to a friend, encouraging them to visit. What experiences would you promote? How would you entertain them on their visit?

The information will be used in a toolkit of information for the whole biosphere area. If you would like to be part of this, you will find postcards with a space to list your favourite places and experiences in a variety of public and commercial premises in Newton Stewart and District. You can list favourite walks, places of interest, entertainment opportunities, good food and drink, local products. The board is particularly keen to hear suggestions of less high-profile examples – places and things which capture the authentic character of Galloway but are not widely known.

Just take a few minutes to complete the card, leave it in the box provided and help the organisers ensure that the ‘Sense of place’ publication which is planned does justice to Mid-Galloway. Alternatively you can do this on-line by visiting www.gallowayandsouthernayrshirebiosphere.org.uk/survey. The survey closes at the end of September.
