THIS year’s Wickerman Festival organisers have confirmed Scissor Sisters, Texas, The View, Levellers, Newton Faulkner and Cast as just some of the big names signed up for the July event near Kirkcudbright.
The 20,000-strong crowd will also have the opportunity to dance to Mike Skinner’s DJ set and see the only Scottish gig to feature Texas this year.
Texas singer Sharleen Spiteri, pictured, said: “We’re delighted to be playing our only Scottish festival performance at Wickerman. It will be a first for Texas but we’ve heard so much about the great festival atmosphere and friendly Wickerman crowds and we’ll be making it a show to remember with a mix of our classic hits and some new material.”
Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears is thrilled his New York band are headlining Wickerman on the Friday night. He said: “We are so excited to play at Wickerman Festival this year. Scotland has especially proven to be some of the best audiences we have ever experienced.”
The festival takes place at East Kirkcarswell, Dundrennan, on July 20 and 21.
