DESPITE their postponed Everest summit attempt, the Walking With The Wounded Expedition Team - including a Balmaclellan airline pilot - will take part in a live broadcast from ‘The Glenfiddich Yurt’ at Everest Base Camp.

Following the decision to postpone this year’s Everest summit attempt, The Walking With the Wounded expedition team, one of whom is 34-year old Glenkens man Stewart Gibson, will be toasting their last day at Everest Base Camp by taking part in the world’s highest ever whisky tasting.

The live broadcast will take place on Thursday 10th May at 7pm from Everest Base Camp at 5364m, where the team will nose and taste a selection of Glenfiddich’s finest single malt reserves whilst ‘lifting the lid’ on what has been a traumatic Everest season.

The 45 minute show will be streamed live online at www.glenfiddich.co.uk/everest,

on the Walking With The Wounded website, Telegraph.co.uk and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/walkingwiththewounded
