Bad week on roads

Two cars collided on the A77 on Monday evening leaving four people requiring hospital treatment.

The crash happened at Innermessan, by the entrance to Ryan Bay Caravan Park at around 5.30pm.

A Vauxhall Astra and Ford Fiesta met, leaving the Fiesta on its roof in a nearby field and the Astra with severe damage to its front.

Police Scotland said that both drivers and a passenger from each car were treated in hospital for minor injuries.

* On Wednesday evening, the 66-year-old female driver of a Honda Jazz was taken to DGRI with a suspected broken sternum and wrist after her car hit a wall.

The woman, from Newton Stewart, crashed near the B733 junction on the A75 near Kirkcowan at around 3.40pm.
