Award for south west energy agency

A prestigious national award to promote energy saving in communities has recognised the work of South West Scotland’s Energy Agency.

The results of the awards were announced at a special lunch in London on Thursday 12th November, hosted by Baroness Maddock, NHIC President. The presentations were made by Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth, Parliamentary under Secretary of State at the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Receiving an award for the runner up for Energy Efficiency in ther Local Communities category was the Energy Agency for Area Based Schemes which are managed on behalf of South Ayrshire, East Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway Council.

Accepting the award director Liz Marquis said: “It is wonderful to receive national recognition for this worthwhile scheme. We are working hard to reduce fuel poverty in local communities”
