Following the success of last year’s litter-pick, Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP) and Loreburn Housing Association Ltd, have teamed up once again to do a similar event for children from the Ailsa Gait area of Stranraer.
The local Community Wardens and Anti-Social Behaviour Team provided the equipment and took part in the clean-up operation.
Lesley Glenn, Community Participation Officer from DGHP said; “Events such as this are beneficial to the whole community as the area is tidied up and it’s a great way of bringing everyone together”.
Donna McCulloch from Loreburn Housing Association added; “If the tenants continue to support the litter-pick then hopefully it will become an annual event”.
All helpers were rewarded with a treat from Alison McKeen’s ice-cream van before taking part in a games session run by the YMCA.
