The second stage of a road maintenance scheme on the north and southbound carriageway of the A77 between Stair Drive and McMaster Road has been programmed for next weekend.
Works will commence at 7am tomorrow (Saturday, May 28) and will be completed by 8pm on Sunday, May 29.
To carry out these works, the north and southbound carriageway will be closed throughout the weekend, although limited access for local residents will be maintained. Northbound traffic will be diverted via Stair Drive to the A75 then to the A751 junction and rejoin the A77 at Innermessan. Road users heading southbound will follow the same diversion in reverse.
This scheme will repair signs of deterioration such as potholes and larger defects which are becoming apparent on the carriageway. Resurfacing this stretch of road will provide 3000 daily road users with a smoother driving experience for the foreseeable future.
Motorists travelling through this area or heading to Stranraer Ferry Terminal during these weekends should allow extra time for their journey and pay attention to diversion signs.
