A75 reopens after chemical spill

The A75 road at Glenluce has been reopened following a closure earlier today due to a chemical spill.

The road was closed at around 2pm on Wednesday, November 4 due to what police say appeared to be a small chemical spillage on the road.

Around 1.40pm a bottle containing an unknown substance was found at the side of the Glenluce bypass.

Emergency services attendanded and diversions were in place through the village of Glenluce for all traffic travelling east and west.

Fire and Rescue Service personnel dealt with the spillage. One person has been removed to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary as a precautionary measure having been in direct contact with the substance.
