EIGHT people were injured in a head-on crash in Galloway on Monday.

The two cars were wrecked in the crash on the A713 Castle Douglas - Ayr road four miles south of Carsphairn.
A fleet of ambulances were rushed to the scene and because of the remoteness of the crash, 20 miles north of Castle Douglas, a Royal Navy Helicopter from HMS Gannet at Prestwick was scrambled.
It took three of the injured from one vehicle to hospital in Kilmarnock.
A family of five, including a child, from the Dalbeattie area in the other car which ended up on its side in a ditch were taken in the ambulances to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
The road was closed for two hours as work went on to help the injured and clear the debris.
A Dumfries and Galloway Police spokesman said last night: "Eight people were injured in the crash. The helicopter was summoned because of the remote area where the crash happened.
"The roadway was closed for some time to allow the injured to be treated. Their injuries are being assessed at the hospitals."
