Guiding celebrations in Kirkcowan

THE Rainbow Camp Reunion took place at Kirkcowan Hall on Saturday evening where Girl Guides also marked the 100 years of guiding.

The 25th anniversary was marked by the cutting of the Rainbow Camp Reunion Cake by Mrs Mary Swift (Calvert) and Mrs Ruth Fyfe (Calvert) who were both Ranger helpers at the camp at the time.
The Guide Centenary Cake which was decorated by Wigtown Guides and cut by Mrs Anne Aitken, Scottish Trefoil Guild Chairman and Mrs Sheila Ogilvie, County President. They were surrounded by members of Stranraer Trefoil Guild.
An exhibiton of Guiding will be on display at Wigtown Library on Monday, July 26; Whithorn Library on Monday, August 9 and at Stranraer Library on Thursday, August 19.
