Following the adverse weather we have experienced during the last few weeks, Dumfries and Galloway Council say they will allocate resources to work on treating roads and footways.

A spokesman said: "After the the snow has gone, we will work on the road defects that have been caused by the freezing and thawing conditions. Some roads will be in a poor condition so drivers should take account of road condition and and drive with due care and attention .
"We will inspect roads for damage but it would be helpful if members of the public could contact the Council to inform us if they are aware of any road defects, t: 030 33 33 3000. We will deal with road defects on a priority basis. "
