55 year-old Dalbeattie man killed in A75 collision

A 55 year-old man from Dalbeattie was killed in a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A75 about two miles east of Castle Douglas.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the accident to come forward.

The accident happened at around 3.30pm on Wednesday 10 February.

Police Scotland report that the man who was killed was the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa car at the time when it was in collision with a Vauxhall Movano van, being driven by a 46 year-old man from Dumfries.

The driver of the van was taken by ambulance to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with leg injuries.

The 25 year old passenger in the Vauxhall Corsa car was not injured.
