Machars Young Farmers held their Sheep Stockjudging at Carswalloch Farm, Creetown, last Friday night, by kind permission of the Campbell Family.

A spokesperson for the club said: “There was a great turnout of 114 competitors, all eager to view an excellent selection of homebred Beltex and Suffolk sheep. First overall and First Lady on the night was Marianne Adams. Second Overall and First Young Farmer was Jan McCaig. Third Overall was Robbie McCornick, and First Junior was Ruari Donald.

“The club must thank the hosts of the evening, The Campbell Family, for providing a fantastic turnout of sheep and putting on an excellent spread of food and drink, the judge, Mr Grant Anderson, and the sponsors, Tarff Valley Ltd, Galloway MacLeod, Harbro and the Beltex Sheep Society for providing a great range of prizes.

“Machars Young Farmers next event will be the Tug O’ War at Wigtown Show and also The Wigtown Show Dance. Drop by our tent to find out more about the club and to take part in some fun games!”
