The recent innovative pirate day in Wigtown was organised and sponsored by The Glaisnock, Hippidippies, The Box of Frogs, Emma Louise Dance Club and GC Books Ltd, all local businesses in the town.

It was a free day of pirate fun and games and lots of the children came in fancy dress to take part.

There was face painting and modelling balloons an the ‘Captain’s Challenge’ encouraged the mini pirate crew to pick out a prize from cold squidey jelly. This was followed by a treasure hunt around the town where the children had to find ‘Feathers the Parrot’ at various locations. After lunch there was dancing with the Emma Louise Dance Club and more pirate games. It was all rounded off with a story on the grass before the pirate crew headed home.
