Two Newton Stewart Rotarians continue to make a difference to the lives of others and have done so for over 70 years.

Last week, members of the Rotary Club of Newton Stewart and their families paid tribute to founder member Baird Matthews and twice Past President Ken McCubbin.

Baird has given voluntary service to communities for 48 years while Ken was recognized for his 25 years of Rotary service. Each man was presented with a Rotary Certificate and personal letter from the World President for 2014/15 Gary Huang.

Current Rotary Club of Newton Stewart President Martin Marsh posed for a picture with Ken and Baird with the original carved roundel signed by all the founder members in 1967.
Rotary in Newton Stewart has significantly rebuilt itself during the last 12 months and is looking forward to one of the biggest community events of the year on Sunday, August 2, with the return of the Wheelie Good Bike Show supported by the Bruce Springsteen tribute Band, the Rising in the Riverside carpark.
