Next week’s planned Wigtownshire Ramblers walk is a 10.5 mile “mystery” walk in the woods and countryside near Gatehouse, graded C+ i.e. easy to moderate.

Meet for car sharing either at Breastworks car park Stranraer at 8:45am or at Riverside car park Newton Stewart at 9:15am, or go directly to the start of the walk at Gatehouse Car park NX 599 563.

New walkers should contact the leader on 01557 815287 for further information.

The Ramblers route last week took in Drigmorn Hill.

They made their way through Minnigaff and along the single track road to the Auchinleck Bridge car park. From here they followed the forest track past Drigmorn farm to the foot bridge across the Pulbae Burn. Care was needed here as it was frosty at one end and there is no handrail.

When all were safely across, they made their way over rough ground hardened by the frost towards the spine of Drigmorn Hill.
