Magician comes to Gatehouse

Murray the Magician

Murray the Magician

THIS weekend is your opportunity to get the Christmas season underway in Gatehouse with a performance by Murray the Magician.

Good, clean, old-fashioned entertainment but with a dark twist in conjunction with The Bakehouse, the Mill on the Fleet brings one of the most exciting mystery performers touring today to the Mill to present his new show “1923”. From the golden era when Houdini ruled the stage and Spiritualism ruled the soul - an incredible mix of mind-reading, death-defying acts and escapes. The show kicks off at 7.30pm - tickets are £8 on the door or phone 01557 814458/814647 to book.

Also at the Mill this weekend is the Mill’s Christmas Fayre, running on both Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm. Stalls include photography including portrait photography, letterpress printing, textiles and knitting, pottery, wooden items, jewellery, candles and more. There will be demonstrations of letterpress printing, and the opportunity to have a go - admission is free.

And on Sunday evening from 4pm, the Gatehouse Christmas Lights Group will hold an event in the Mill grounds following the official switch-on at 4pm. There will be stalls, music, and entertainment until 7pm, and thereafter inside the Mill, local musicians will perform throughout the evening - and once again, admission is free.
