Leswalt Parish Church Annual Auction took place on Saturday, February 28 in the village hall.

There was standing room only when the bidding kicked off at 7.00pm and due to the generosity of local people there was an amazing array of items up for sale.

With over 30 volunteers helping to keep things running smoothly on the night and several others lending a hand in the run up to event, it was a real community effort. Two members of the team, Val Plant and John Clark, made their auctioneering debut and were undoubtedly the stars of the night – a special thank you to them for agreeing to give this difficult job a go and well done for being so good at it! We must not forget our long serving auctioneers – Owen, Murray and Robert who were great too!

Another special thank you must go to the girls from the Stranraer Academy Gold Duke of Edinburgh Team 2014/15 who very kindly agreed to come along and help out. They worked hard from the start of the night until the very end and are a real credit to themselves and Stranraer Academy. Good Luck with the rest of your Duke of Edinburgh adventure girls.

Everyone involved with the Church would like to say a big thank you to all who helped out in any way, whether it was by donating items, giving up a few hours to help or coming along on the night and placing a bid. It wouldn’t have been possible without you all. The grand total raised currently stands at £3732! A magnificent sum which is a real boost for church funds. Hope to see you all again next year!
