There are a host of Christmas events starting this weekend in Kirkcudbright.

Children’s books by local authors will be featured at the Harbour Cottage Gallery Fayre and it is rumoured that Wee McAsh will be joining some of the authors during the Fayre which runs from 28th November until 10th December.

Wee McAsh is planning a few visits but will definitely be there on Sunday 4th December during the afternoon with author Amanda Sunderland. Amanda will be joined by either Jayne Baldwin or Shalla Gray from Beltie Books, Renita Boyle and Mike Abel who illustrated the book.

The Fayre will also include a large variety of gifts by local artists and craftspeople including painted slate, felting, jewellery, textile gifts, ceramics, metal & glass creations, painting & cards, calendars, glasswork, photography, embroidered pictures, woodcraft and not forgetting Ann Stewart’s delicious mince pies & Margaret Hainey’s shortbread. The Fayre will be open daily from 10.30am until 4.00am and admission is free – so why not make a date in your diary to come and enjoy Christmas shopping in the historic gallery in the Artists’ town of Kirkcudbright.

There’s a busy winter again at the Kirkcudbright Tolbooth with movies, events and exhibitions. First up is the Cash for Kids fundraiser on 9th December 11am-3pm, come and have coffee & mince pies with the Open Art exhibitors.
