Fourteen-year-old Jack Forsyth won the overall beef young handlers competition at the recent Royal Highland Show at Ingliston.

Jack, from Mid Bishopton, Whithorn was competing against nearly 20 other youngsters from all over the UK and Ireland.

He was showing a 12-month old home-bred pure Limousin steer, Jackthelad. They were judged on their ability to show, parade and control their animals in front of the judge and asked questions on how to feed and prepare their animals for showing.
