Gaelic day planned for Stranraer

If you would like to learn more about Gaelic culture and language, Gàidhlig Dumgal are holding a Gaelic day in Stranraer next month.

This community-based group, formed in February 2011 with support from Dumfries and Galloway Council and Bòrd na Gàidhlig to promote awareness of, and interest and involvement in Gaelic language, literature, music and other aspects of Gaelic culture throughout Dumfries and Galloway will hold their Gaelic Day in the Pipe Band Hall, Bridge Street on Saturday, September 13. There will be an opportunity to learn some Gaelic songs, or get an introduction to Scots Gaelic, which was once widely spoken in the west of Galloway.
