Snap to it and enter our photo competition

Glentrool and Bargrennan Community Trust’s village summer fete will be held on August 25.

And one of the highlights this year will be a a photography competition, in conjuction with The Galloway Gazette and the Forestry Commission.

The competition is open to everyone other than professional photographers, and the categories are “Local Wildlife” and “Local Landscape”. The competition will be judged by Lucy Hadley of the Forestry Commission at the summer fete at 2pm.

The lucky winner will be treated to a free place on one of the two fantastic photography courses provided by the Forestry Commission this year. The dates for the prize photography trips are: Landscape Photography for Beginners on Thursday, October 25, 1-4pm (at Queen’s Way) and Autumn Colours Photography on Wednesday, October 31, 1.30-4pm (at Glentrool). The winner will also have his or her photograph published in the Gazette

There will be a £2 entry fee with up to two photos permitted per entry. All entries are to be submitted as an A4 print with the photographer’s name and contact details, and anyone under 16 entering is encouraged to include their age.

Photos can be submitted with applicable payment any time prior to 1pm on August 25 to either Tara Lumley or any other board of members Glentrool and Bargrennan Community Trust, or by sending them to Tara at The Old School, Glentrool.

All entries will be displayed in the old school in Glentrool Village for judging and for a period following the summer fete. Entries will not be returned unless by specific request and arrangement.
