Donations of goods to charity welcomed

Having a summer clear-out?

Blythswood Care is keen to receive donations of goods for our charity shops at our collection lorry which calls on Tuesday, August 12 at Kircudbright Parish Church Hall from 9.00-9.30am; Riverside Car Park, Newton Stewart from 10.15-10.45am; and Glenluce Church of Scotland from 11.15-11.45am.

The monthly collection lorry accepts clothing, shoes, books, small items of furniture, bric a brac and also tinned food for our Foodbanks in Scotland. The goods are brought to the Blythswood depot at Hillington and distributed to the charity’s shops or prepared for sending to partner organisations in Eastern Europe, who are working to help extremely poor families and individuals. All donated items are processed by Blythswood Care. For further information, please go to the website, blythswood.org, or phone 0845 456 9461.

You can also change a life by taking part in the Shoe Box Appeal! Blythswood Care Shoe Box Appeal 2014 leaflets and posters are now available from the collection lorry . Shoeboxes containing toiletries, clothes, sweets, toys and other every-day items will be distributed in orphanages, schools, hospitals, care homes and gypsy villages in Eastern Europe and Pakistan. A Blythswood shoebox is practical – full of gifts that help people in poverty. It‘s also very personal – a thoughtful act of kindness towards a stranger in need. Leaflets can also be ordered from Blythswood Care on 0845 456 9460 or 0845 456 9461.
