Whithorn woman Hazel Smith recently raised a phenomenal £800 for charity after turning her 40th birthday party into a fundrasier.

Her family and friends all turned up in droves to the County Buildings in Wigtown to celebrate with her and help her raise the money for her two favourite charities.

Hazel said: “I would like to thank all my friends and family for the generous donations to the charities on the night. A fantastic £800 was raised and has been split evenly between Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Scoliosis Association UK (SAUK).”
