Can you give Blue and Inky a loving home?

Blue and Inky are the longest residents presently in the care of the Stranraer and District Branch of Cats Protection. They have been in their pen waiting for that purrfect owner for over six months and the volunteers of the branch are very keen to find them a special home to call their very own.

Both have very gentle, easy going and very affectionate personalities and would offer superb feline company for anyone seeking a couple of cats to adorn their household.

They are both 10 years old and brothers. They get on really well and we’d love to see them go to their new home together.

A spokesperson for the Stranraer and District Branch of Cats Protection said: “When they came into our care, Blue had a very poorly eye. We think this is the result of him contracting the Herpes virus in his younger days and it has caused his left eye to become ulcerated and left him feeling unwell and depressed. He has responded very well to treatment, the eye and his general condition are much improved. He’s once again a happy cat, ready to play with Inky and have fun. But to keep the eye in this healthier state, he will need eye drops every day. He also takes one steroid tablet a day at the moment to prevent this virus affecting him in the future. This is easily done due to his relaxed character. At the moment the cost of his steroid tablets is £2.40 per month.

The reason Blue contracted this virus is probably because he was never vaccinated. If he had been, he would have not contracted this nasty virus and suffered the above ailments. Happily we have got his condition well under control and feel he should go on to lead a healthy and happy life given the opportunity of a caring home.

We would like to see these two lads go to a quiet home where they are the only pets. They would be ideal for a couple or individual who are retired, home quite often and seeking a cat to sit on their lap at frequent intervals during the day.
