The Port William Inshore Rescue Service (PIRSAC) are holding an awareness ‘BuyaBrick’ day, outside Newton Stewart Royal Bank of Scotland from 9.30am on Saturday, February 28.
They are also holding an open information day at The Boatshed, Port William on Saturday, March 7 from 10am till 3pm, to inform the public of their new venture and sell bricks while offering refreshments.
The volunteer Rescue Service are building a new lifeboat house in the village and it to help with ongoing running cost of running as a volunteer group they are asking people to buy a brick that they can personalise, and get your name and message, in fact two lines of any text you wish printed on your own ‘brick’ plaque that will be display within the new building forever.
The team suggested a minimum price of £10 per brick to cover costs and provide a small donation and at that price the whole family can have one. Buy one for someone’s birthday. Buy one in memory of someone. The kids could save pocket money and afford one … just to come and find their name on the PIRSAC wall each time they visit.
A spokesperson for the team said: ”Please share and donate where you can. Many thanks for your continued support – we couldn’t do it without you.”
