A charity barn dance and auction at Drumneil Farm near Whauphill in the summertime raised a phenomenal £12,605.79 for two very special charities.

The event, hosted by the McKinnel Family, saw cheques presented this week to The Scottish Liver Transplant Unit in Edinburgh, who received £8400.22, and the Scottish Huntington’s Association, who received £4205.57.

The McKinnel family said: “We raised a fantastic £12,605.79 for two very special charities. This was only made possible by the amazing support and generosity of the people of Wigtownshire who made the night such a great success.”
