Arts Live is a brand new year-round touring programme brought to the region by the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival.
The programme begins this week with the National Theatre of Scotland’s most celebrated heroine. The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart at the McMillan Hall, Newton Stewart.
On Saturday Ishbel McFarlane brings her highly-acclaimed, award-winning one woman show on the Scots language - O is for Hoolet - to the Swallow Theatre, Whithorn.
An historic song project that premiered at the festival last year and involved the talent of seven of Dumfries & Galloway’s most celebrated folk musicians returns to the region on 7 July. Macmath: The Silent Page will sing out from Glentrool Village Hall as part of the Newton Stewart and Minnigaff Live Music Festival.
Also booked for the year ahead is a return by the National Theatre of Scotland with the Last Dream (On Earth) at Stranraer in July.
