A night of live music in the Creebridge Hotel Newton Stewart has raised the superb sum of £1300 to help a Wigtown two-year-old.

One of the performers, Tom Dingwall, along with the concert organisers Ray Hitchcock and Rosemary Cormack, presented a cheque to leukaemia sufferer Jamie Cooksley’s parents Roddy and Fiona on Tuesday night.

Jamie is going through long term treatment for leukaemia and as his immune system is weakened he has to be protected from infections and injuries and his parents are building a playground in his back garden to help him cope.

Also included on the evening were auctions and raffles and thanks to the generosity of everyone who donated and purchased on the night money raised will now go towards the cost of Jamie’s playground garden.

Tom, Ray and Rosemary give their heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the night and wish Jamie a speedy recovery.
