Two well-established guest houses in Dumfries & Galloway – Buchan Guest House in Moffat and Greenlaw Guest House in Gretna Green – are for sale.

Both are being handled by Christie’s.

Buchan Guest House is a well-established, three-star business and trades with seven letting bedrooms, a dining room and a guest lounge as well as owner’s accommodation and private parking.

Moffat has a variety of local and sporting amenities including an 18-hole golf course, a rugby club and the extremely popular tourist attraction, Moffat Woollen Mill.

Buchan Guest House was purchased by the current owners in 2001. Since then, they have spent a lot of time and effort developing it into one of the finest guest houses in the area. Offers in the region of £360,000 are being sought.

The second business is Greenlaw Guest House. This is situated approximately two minutes from the train station, Gretna Hall and the Old Blacksmith’s Visitor Centre and Museum. Greenlaw Guest House has built up an excellent name and benefits from being in what is regarded as the wedding capital of the UK.

Greenlaw is close to the M74 and is an ideal base for those touring both south-west Scotland and the Lake District. It trades with nine letting bedrooms, a lounge, dining room and private parking. There is also well-proportioned, two-bedroom owner’s accommodation at the rear.

Greenlaw Guest House is offered for sale at offers in the region of £450,000 for the freehold.
