Funding opportunity for charities

Representatives of charities in the Galloway area are being invited to discuss their funding needs at an advice surgery to be held by the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland on Wednesday, March 7.

The advice surgery will provide a chance for representatives of registered charities to discuss potential projects towards which the foundation may be able to provide financial support.

Foundation staff will give tips on filling in the application form and advice on the kind of projects that may be funded. One-to-one appointments with a member of the foundation’s staff are available at the North West Resource Centre in Lincluden.

Mary Craig, the foundation’s chief executive, said: “Our next deadline for applications is March 19, so this funding surgery is a great opportunity for charities in the area to come and talk about a potential application. We are keen to hear from charities in the area which benefit disadvantaged people in our society and which are looking for funding during 2012. Coming to speak to us is a great way of finding out how we can help and making sure charities understand our application process.”

To make a 45-minute appointment for a one-to-one consultation with one of the foundation’s staff it is necessary to book in advance by calling 0131 444 4020.
